The military did make practical use of color TV for indoor communications and medical training, however.

Here's the General, in his office, viewing the FT. Meade maneuvers on an RCA CT-100. He was not alone. NBC telecast the "battle," in color, nationwide.
Seems a former general named Sarnoff still had some pull.
