Took advantage of the snow day and the cap order I received yesterday to finish the recap on the AM-214 amp (and fix the channel 2 issue I had) and do the RA-524 FM receiver. Both seem to be working fine after the surgery ![]() Any suggestions for the oxidation or whatever the dark areas are on the amp's face? Last edited by 1966C10; 01-07-2014 at 03:54 PM. ![]() You could try a VERY gentle cleaning with some Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish, followed by a coat of clear spray lacquer to keep the panel from oxidizing again. It's worked for me with old gold tone face-plates before. |

From some digging it seems the same as or very similar to the Monarch SA-40 and probably a few others of that era. Would still like to find a schematic for it but with the recap it should work well for a while. |
