Vintage Antenna Rotor and Rotor Control Boxes

Does anyone have For Sale In Working Condition either a T-10 or T-12 Alliance Rotor Control Box? I have the rotor(s) I just need the controller.

I had one but the rotor was wired by someone else and not me and it was wired not properly for the controller and it burnt out the control box.

Please message me with the price and information.

Thank You.

Why can't you repair the control box? There isn't that much to them.

Is that a 5-wire manual-button box, like the newer T45?

It's similar to the T45, but only uses 4 wires. I don't know what the difference is. The T10 and T12 are really old units. Mid 50's to early 60's.

I don't think it can be repaired as there is melted pieces inside the box near the pointmeter. It literally was smoking like a cigarette burning when it was hooked up wrong. Also, the box smells like fried electronics. It still buzzes when you push down the copper contact bars but that is all. I wouldn't think there would be any parts available for this anymore as it is from the 1950's.

It's terrible when you let the magic smoke out. I may have a complete channel master around if you want to change it all.

Didnt these rotors all use a 36 volt transformer in the control box and 4-pole AC motor up top? I have dozens of U100 boxes ;]

I also have an Alliance HIR-2, maybe similar. The only devices are a left-right switch and " go back" light for end of rotation

All of them I worked on were 24 volts AC.
IIRC, the NEC restricted class two wiring to 25 volts.
The U100 rotors were OK, but the control box, made too much racket. When I installed antennas, I used the C225's or the German built RCA's. They used the electronic servo controls. The customers liked them a lot better.
With the U100, you had to use the reset button, on the bottom of the controller, to recalibrate the rotor, when the wind would knock it out of alignment.

T-10 Alliance Rotor Control Box. I found one of these and it moves my antenna in both directions GREAT!!

The only little fly in the oinment is this. When I press the bar and my antenna nears the N-NE direction the needle on the Control Box registers like it should. However, when I move it past that direction and around the other way the needle doesn't register on the Control Box? Does anyone know why?

I looked up directions for these types of rotor controls and I did adjust the rheostat and that is when it would start registering N-NE but no other directions.
