Looking at my Sams 1966 control cross reference replacement guide, the Centralab KR-1 should be correct. That's the complete switch assembly. I'm not aware that they sold a separate cover.

I may be using the wrong terminology for the switch. I've seen them called "switch covers" on the internet, and I've befriended a local fellow who had a radio/tv repair shop back in the 60's and 70's (he was partners with my wife's uncle who's in his 80's and doesn't remember much from back then) who just called it "the cover". It is the whole switch assembly I'm talking about, but it seems to just snap/crimp onto the back of the pots in front that do the volume control and hold control. Thanks for looking that up. There aren't many parts to "eyeball" out in my neck of the desert, so I have to buy from the net looking at pics and then hope it's right when it gets here. -Cary |

Cary - You're very welcome.
I suppose people call them switch covers because the switch basically replaces the pots standard back cover. Unfortunately there's no guarantee that a KR-1 switch will fit an OEM Centralab pot. Last edited by Kevin Kuehn; 03-02-2014 at 08:25 PM. |

The other option to trying to find a replacement switch is to replace the whole control. The SAMS photofact does list the parts breakdown to build the control from IRC parts. I might have to work on gathering them, and just replace the whole thing. 11-133 50 k ohm pot 13-137 1 meg ohm pot 202 shaft end 76-1 switch -Cary |

If you could post a picture of your control, someone may have a parts donor laying around. Those switches had to be as common as dirt back in the day.

How much of that stuff went to the scrap pile, way back then. Someone has to have one in the junk box or scrap chassis hoard. I've worked on Dumonts, but not as many, as the Chicago makes. They usually used CTS, with Zenith using Mallory. |
