I think the GE monochromes weren't blue tint, but a phosphor with a bluer output. A dumb idea except to customers who equated different with better. I think they tried to imply it was more natural, but really it was bluer than daylight.

Not sure if the Mitsu color tubes with blue tint had any claimed technical advantage or just were a different look. I do know Mitsu projos used the 9300 + 27MPCD color temp for a long time. Made the reds and greens look saturated by comparison to the cyanish white, but also meant the set was very susceptible to color variations in the broadcast.
