I got one of those 14" GE's when I was in 4th grade around 1968 as payment for helping my dad clean out my grandma's six-room apartment. After replacing a diode to get UHF working again, it lasted throughout my high school days 'til it quit in 1977 or so. Definitely worked better with a roof antenna.

GE 14 inch TV

I had one that was a donation to my HS from one of the teachers. It came to us with a brighter. Got the CRT regunned after HS . It was VHF only. It had video washout issue I could never get straight. There was no Videokarma then. In spite of all that it was my favorite set due to sturdiness and the lack of a power transformer which made it feel light. I wish I still had it but my parents forced me to give it up as I became something of a TV hoarder. Had TVs stashed all over. The GE set was under the dining room table. Had two other in my bedroom, and one in my dad's room, two in the living room (or was it three?), three more in the basement.

You can definitely still call me squirrel boy as well, if I may borrow another's tag line!!! If not, my sincere apologies!
