That cap doesn't really affect the width. I'm pretty sure it's there to suppress ringing. The two vertical resistors serve a similar purpose.

If your Admiral has a big power resistor inside the HV cage, make sure it's OK. It has a big effect on width and linearity. Also check the damper tube.

No resistor in the HV cage. I WILL check the damper tube though! Thx Bob!
