help with zenith 8s463/5808

Hey all,

I've had this Zenith for a number of years and it plays great after a recap. A while ago a friend dropped by with his toddler daughter who took great interest in pressing the station preset buttons on the front. Now I cannot for the life of me figure out how to return to manual tuning. Turning the tuning knob does nothing but I can press the station presets and one or two that are actually tuned correctly pick up a few local stations. Is there a trick to enabling manual tuning again?

I had to look at my 7S363, which is similar, only one less tube.
There's a band selector lever, located behind the tuning knob. For manual tuning, it should be in the six o'clock position.
It has four positions, push button, manual, shortwave one and shortwave two.

Goodness I feel stupid. Thank you! The word "automatic" is almost rubbed off. I never even knew the selector had 4 positions. Problem solved!

I thought there was a strong possibility that the cabinet was refinished at one time and the decals were stripped off.
Glad to be of help! Be sure to consult any one of us, for further information.
