By the 2000s, of course, it was more commonplace both in direct-view and in rear-projection TVs. On some Toshibas from the early 00s, I would cut the feedback wire from this board, as it wasn't even defeatable via service mode. I am not sure which sets were the first to use a scanning velocity controller. If I had to guess, I bet Sony was the first. Anyone know for sure?
