I wish you luck with your Globe Trotter, Mr Fixit.
 Hope to find one someday that's in good shape.I enjoy my BP-10 at the beach in summer, and used the same battery solution, arranging the batteries to fit nicely inside. Had to re-cap, and after was rewarded with a very nice radio with decent reception, at least over water about 90 miles from NYC. Need to get back on track with the multi-band transistor stuff.
