They used to be good. I know a few people who still use late 80s JVC sets. By about 2000 they seemed to go downhill; at least the ones I saw. I saw a lot of late 90s-early 2000s JVC CRT sets that looked awful by the time they hit 5 years old. They all had RCA tubes.
At least some of their LCD sets are identical to Vizio. Even the menu looks the same. Made by Amtran.
