This 630 was hideous indeed, it is nice to see that you are having good luck with restoring its original finish.

I spent a couple of hours last night removing some more of the glue. It's now about 95% gone. Seems that because the upholstery cloth was installed so long ago, it protected the original wood finish underneath from wear and tear over the years. The finish on the cabinet is in excellent shape with almost no blemishes. All I'll have to do it a little touch up, and of course fill the damn tack holes. No refinishing needed.
