How did you get the probes to stay on the extenders?

The ones I got are fiendishly designed to make this impossible.

indeed, I remove the sliding hook thing and generally just rely on the prob pin stuck in the hole of the extender, its pretty iffy but generally I can get them to stay put.

Alright I think I am ready to start back up on this TV and finish it once and for all! Would do any of you recommend me doing? I did get some 9 and 7 pin test sockets (thanks to Dave for alerting the guy at the tube store near me).
