I'm thinking a loose connection somewhere.

The fact that your TV "fixed itself" after it warmed up suggests that and I doubt futzing with the yoke would cause color loss on its own.

Is the color killer control turned fully to the 'wide open' position?

Is that on the chassis in the center of all the color circuitry tubes?

The controls are identified on page 24 of the factory service manual.

The color killer ("killer threshold") control is inside the Contrast control shaft. Pull off the Contrast knob and use a thin screwdriver to adjust.

OK my only problem left now is for the first 10-15 minutes of operation everything is out of focus. After about 10-15 minutes it fixes itself and is relatively clear. What needs to be done?
