I like the e-stats better, but if a paper cone is what you got to replace a bad e-stat with why not.

The reason why I said that is becase there are some self professed "newbies" to the tube world on this website and I'm sure that those people wouldn't know any better than to try and power a paper cone tweeter off of the same hookups as the original electrostatic tweeters were powered off of.

And actually a brand new electrostatic tweeter isn't that much more than a standard paper cone tweeter so one could easily install a brand new modern electrostatic tweeter into an old Zenith like this and still be ahead, they have them over at parts express for like $15 or so.
