Could you be more specific as to what you mean by good? I replaced all the caps and resistors in the circuit. I have will go back and check to see if I made a mistake replacing those caps and resistors.

My friend emailed and said to turn the H. Frequency adjustment CCW. It has a wide range. Bingo.
I'll have to put in the 16KP4 tube next to see what it'll really look like.

This morning I removed the focus coil off the test CRT. Much better. I'll do some voltage checks and replace the selenium rectifier today. The picture is actually much better in person than the photo.

I did some more work on getting it done. It is pretty much finished. I have a few details I need to work on. I also want to go through the alignment procedure so I can learn about it. Here the pics.

Nice, tidy work. You have made great progress.
Are you using a VCR as a source? The bending near the top of the screen is classic VCR distortion. Many, many vintage TVs have this issue, although they will display perfectly with a DVD player or other non-videotape source. Phil Nelson Phil's Old Radios http://antiqueradio.org/index.html

I almost forgot I wanted to glue the CRT base back on. It was just a little loose. I use some glue I got at Walmart labeled E6000. It's high heat, flexible, and bonds glass to plastic and such. I squeeze out some in a small mixing container and add some acetone. I mix it up thoroughly to the consistency of syrup. I then suspend the CRT facing up and "trowel" the glue where the base meets the glass CRT with a round toothpick. I go around the perimeter of the base and as the glue seeps down into the base, I add more glue. When satisfied, I wipe down both the base and the CRT with some acetone. I'll let it dry overnight.

|
OK, I aligned the video and sound IF using my signal generator and VTVM. I have a good picture and great audio.
I do have some little white bars that go across the top of the screen. See attached picture. Any ideas?

They are either closed captioning (which lurks at the extreme top of the frame), or macrovision copy protection (which usually droops down lower).
If you have Cable/Satellite you should watch the AMC channel on your AMC TV set at least once.
