That's where I thought it would have been, in one of those cans but I looked and it's not there. I wonder because I get a lousy picture, fuzzy and I can't adjust it out at all so I thought maybe the diode was leaky but it's nowhere.

There has to be a detector. If it ain't an SS diode (not all early SS diodes appear to be what they are) look for a tube diode (or a grid leak detector triode).

There are 2 6al5 , ratio detect and video detect and agc rect. Maybe these are the ones responsible for a lousy pic?
