When you get a quick blast of sound then dead set its usually high voltage
shut down ( HVSD ). Caused usually by the main power supply putting out too
much voltage, failure of HVSD circuit, OR a heavy load on the HV circuit.
If you have a variac & AC amps meter we can help with it.
ALSO post a few "nudies" of the chassis, it connects better than anything
to our minds........

I think I didn't describe what the audio was doing properly. The audio does come through like it would normally, but it is extremely distorted and quiet.

About an hour after starting this thread, I went back to turn on the TV and a few seconds after hitting power, the CRT lit up. 90 seconds later, it shut off while the channel selector remained on.

I also tried looking for a Sams folder of the set, but I couldn't find one for this exact set.
