It would be difficult to pick out one year that "Beat" 1955.Lessee,the '55 Fords & Mopars weren't quite as hot as the '55 Chevy was, but they weren't far behind. "High Fidelity" was all the rage in home music,a system that sounded good then likely still will today.TV had come of age, you had the beginnings of color, which would soon be bigger than anyone could have imagined. WW2 was receeding in peoples' minds, America & most of the rest of "The West" was enjoying the hell out of10 years of peace. Even Germany, our erstwhile foe was growing from strength to strength, having hitched their wagon solidly in "The Allies"column. Indeed, for the next 10-15 years anyway, there was not much to spoil the party...
