Welcome.

I know what you mean about European sets. I've come upon a decent number of German import model HiFi/stereo consoles here. While they have an interesting style about them and can perform excellently, build quality has always been a turnoff. Parts and chassis that often make even the cheap American made stuff look like military gear, seemingly 1/8" of lacquer over veneer that is thinner than paper, Piano key band switches that crumble after the wacky substance in the insulators gets ruined by standard American contact cleaners, etc.

One that has been loved by all it's owners and is like new can be a joy to own, but when it comes to rough fixer-upper sets I rather have something with enough substance to it to make a resto feel worth while.
