Its the last delta tube set & the last modular RCA. I saw
very few of them. We did tons of RCA so that means they are rare or very reliable or both. The set uses an SCR for a regulator & can be a bitch to fix requiring all the equipment ( meter, scope, variac, DC power supply ) also knowledge & patience. The power supply, horz osc & HV all have to be working or you get "dead set". There is also a one chance kick start for the horz osc. to spice things up ! If you look at it & dont hear the quick degauss hum at cold turn on it may be just the main fuse. ( 7 A fast blow) 73 Zeno ![]() LFOD ! |

Honestly I would bet if given enough time the owner may decide to just give it away for free or dang near it. I live near Knoxville and know from experience that the Tv market in Tennessee isn't the best.. There's plenty of vintage TV's on the Knoxville craigslist and a couple similar RCA sets.
Anyways, good luck. It's nice to see someone in this area who also messes with the stuff. |
