Crazy Eddie receipt

Found a Crazy Eddie receipt for something that cost $9.99 plus tax. I don't remember what it was, the description "Rub 5517" doesn't remind me either... It was purchased in October 18, 1986, which is in the era of solid state CRT TV sets.

They were crooks and were exposed. Eddie Antar was the top guy, he's dead. I remember when they were brought down, it was all over the news. They were around when VCR's were a big and a expensive item. They didn't rip me off though. They had one of their "Blowout" sales advertising a VCR with so many features (no brand name mentioned) for just over $300.00. I was at the store as they opened the day of the sale to be told they were sold out. Back then stores did not have small print saying while supply's last etc. I told them I wanted something comparable for the same price, and was not leaving without one. After almost two hours, the store decided to let me have the best Hitachi, (big brand name back then) that sold for just over $1,200.00 with more features than the one advertised. Here's a couple of many articles.

The Bloomberg Odd Lots podcast did an interview with Sam Antar (the former CFO) a while ago, it's pretty entertaining.

I have the receipt from when my mom bought a Panasonic camcorder in 1995 at The Wiz, another store you east-coasters might remember.
