Thing's really cool, but i don't know much about it. was wondering if someone could help me find more information on the set. Since it's been running for awhile, picture's gotten brighter and more stable. but i've noticed that the left side of the screen is darker than the rest. area seems to be getting less though. must be bad caps or something. thankfully it's improving

Look right down the throat of the lenses and see if the shading is on the faceplate of the tubes to be sure it's an electrical problem and not some dirt inside the lens.
Generally speaking, most problems with shading from left to right are due to a bad bypass electro off the sweep that modulates the video level at the horiz rate. Since this TV has (I believe) a SMPS that runs at the horiz rate, a bad capacitor could be there as well. Capacitors also improve with temperature, so the reduction in shading as the TV warms is a good indication of a weak electrolytic. John |

Picture failed. set won't turn on. i'm assuming more capacitors failed, don't really know if i can fix the thing, haha
