OK this changes the story for the better ! Me & probably most others
thought it was a computer monitor. It is NOT. This is the type set you would find at a TV station or some other production place that uses VTR's & Cameras. There is NO computer input like TTL etc. Strictly good old fashion NTSC. Depending on how it hooked up you may be able to hook almost anything to it with just some adapters. If it uses the VTR input that is probably an industry standard & no big deal. More good news. This is just an NEC TV set without tuners but with the jacks added or changed to industrial stuff. Most of it is probably the same as the "normal" consumer TV with tuners. For a manual look for NEC 19" sets & compare the main chassis. The important things will be the same. Flyback transformers ( FBT's ) often went bad on NEC's. They would burn through & arc to ground. Back then cheap subs were avaliable BUT the pix wasnt quite right & you had to do a little physical mods. If it is arcing pull the old FBT & get the numbers off it. If someone has one they will be VERY HAPPY to sell it. Try to find the OEM first. Let us know how you do. 73 Zeno ![]() LFOD ! |
