1st generation Zenith 19" System 3 from 1979

The 1st gen S-3 was without a doubt the most reliable Zenith color set built.
Another thing they gave the BEST green of any set I ever saw.
Considering the numbers we sold I saw damn few for service. Most
for the H drive cold joints & H yoke plug. Only thing that would improve
the set would have been a full RAT tuner & comb filter. You had to
wait a year for that on the gen2 sets. I was always tempted to swap
out the 9-152 with the comb filter board but never got to it.
BTW the chassis was introed in the late J line high end consoles & NOT known as "System 3" sets. IIRC all others were K line.
If you get a chance pick up an SK1961W or K1960W for collection. Or
maybe one of the consoles.
