I last got the movie BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED (1987) on VHS
I hadnt wanted this movie on its official VHS tape because it says 'DIGITALLY RECORDED' on the box and every movie I have seen that says this looks like crap!! On this copy ON THE MCA TAPE ITSELF it does not say "Digitally recorded" and looks almost as good as watching it over analogue cable! (Audio sounds a little thin but the vid is def NOT DIGITALLY RECORDED thankfully!!) If I ever find this recorded from analogue cable Ill get it as it will probably have the original analogue audio also! |

I had bought a few years back (so this is not a recent acquisition) a VHS Copy of the last release of the original Star Wars Movies before they were remastered (the ones that showed Jaba as being a man in a suit, and that showed who actually shot first in the bar fight scene) which this was from 1995, because 1997 was when they "remastered" the whole video (when they "digitized" Jaba and "edited" the Bar Fight scene.)
While the audio was "Digitally Remastered" (Using their trademark THX Technology) the video is still the original video from 1977-1983 when the original Star Wars Movies came out. I was shocked when I found it at the Goodwill because after this video set was released they destroyed all of the original video footage after they "remastered" and "digitized" it so basically because of that any major Star Wars fan would be hard pressed to give up their copy of the original unedited version of the original Star Wars movies because basically that's something that you're never going to find ever again, even on DVD or Blu-Ray. |

Ya I have all 3 original star wars movies on VHS!
1) Star wars - 1977 (Official VHS tape .. NOT DIGITALLY MASTERED) 2) EMPIRE STRIKES BACK - 1980 (Recorded from analogue cable (USA Network) in 1995) 3) RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) - Recorded from analogue cable (HBO) sometime in the 80s I would like getting an earlier copy of ESB if I can......... I have First Knight as well on VHS, its an older release from the late '80s or early '90s (I believe it was a CBS/FOX release) so nothing digital on that one.

Sorry about the confusion. But I do have that movie I just forgot how recent it was (I think the reason why I thought it was an older CBS/FOX release was because I actually do have a bunch of older movies that were released under that label, including an old VHS release of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in fact that might of been the movie I was thinking of.) |
