Does your set have the clock set buttons ? If not, usually a metal tab was inserted into that plug to keep random time numbers from showing up on the screen.

Ok so that connector is for the time feature that this TV doesn't have. Nice to know I was not losing my vision or mind. Thanks Zeno and Damen for the help.

Here is a picture of the set in its new home. I still need to do some more cleaning to the set as it's still dirty on the sides. On that Sanyo VCR I had to change the STK voltage regulator right after I got done working on this set. On that stk module they had no thermal compound on the original and doubt it did the STK module any good. I do know STK modules are not known for being the most reliable and that's why I always save them from junk equipment. This VCR has played a lot of tapes for me over the years and was the first VCR I ever repaired back in 2018.
