First one I got had a bad CRT. The second one I bought was mint with an original set of transparencies in a manila envelope marked B&K! It could use a recap but it’s hard to beat for diagnosing these old tv issues.

A good CRT is much harder to find than a replacement PMT. A standard 931A type works just fine in these...

Well, between the 2, the chances of having a good CRT should be rather good, UPS says the one that was smoking will come tomorrow, will start a topic on the test eqip thread when it comes.

When it comes to the 270 pf mica caps, do they open, go noisy or short/leak. I have seen them go noisy but never open or leak.
The cathode resistors are 82 ohm.
My Silvertone 8132 is very similar to the 630TS but has 250 pf mica caps. No snow off channel. Is this a symptom of a open mica? The cathode resistors are
I take it the 630TS is also a very heavy chassis.
