I think those are terminal strips. Motorola and Zenith used them, too. I think you stuff all the components into the strips from the back, then bathe the strips in solder from the front. This is how some companies made point-to-point wired sets during the pc board era.
This one must be partly hand-soldered though, because there do not seem to be terminals like this on the tube sockets. I'll bet this chassis really is a Packard-Bell design. John |
