Scored 2 Philcos

Sunday was a nice day. I hit the antique malls and got two Philcos cheap.

One is a matal cabinet portable from the 50's. The model number is gone and I haven't opened it up to ID it yet.

The other is a 12 inch roundie. It's the one with the arch top cabinet. Some idiot broke the picture tube and the vendor kept the $45 price tag.



I saw it Sunday and 20 was taken off the price. the cabinet will clean up nicely, but will need some minor veneer repair and toning. The power cord was rotted. I fear Philco may have used rubber wiring.

Can someone confirm this?

Either way, this Philco brings my roundie total to 7.

As soon as I open up the portable, I'll get an ID. Pics will come eventually (no digital camera and vidcaps don't look too good).
