[QUOTE=Bobby Brady]Is this some sort of sick joke? You lift a CRT by grabbing the neck?
It almost sounds possible to bounce the safety glass off but if I find out you are trying to be funny I will be very angry that someone's safety is put at risk.

Somebody who knows needs to comment on this immediately![/QUOTE

I apologize for my quick suspicion of Pilotprose's motives. Please keep in mind that I live right between Miami and Palm Beach and in this area it is hard not to expect one to have sinister motives. We have the best of people and things here but also more of the worst people and things than most of you could probably imagine.
After a little more thought I believe he was not trying to be funny. I do think his method would only work on a safetyglass that would pull off with a little hot air applied to the face. I expect it would not work on one that has the green halo as that type has a stronger bonding material and would best be cut with a hot wire wich is easy to make with the correct piano/guitar wire and a variable power supply to get it hot but not red. I am certain that one should NEVER pick up a CRT by it's neck. It is a completely unecessary risk.
The thought of someone doing that made me worry someone might get hurt on top of losing something valuable.
Also, wouldn't bouncing a CRT on it's face risk disturbing the internal shadowmask and phosphers?
