Here is a video of the problem as getting a picture of it is impossible. Auto focus kicked in but you can still see it. Thanks for the help so far guys.

A few ideas.
1) the yellow cap I remember now. I think they burned due to cold solder joint. Change it anyways IF you can find an original. When they burned you often had to cut away a lot of PCB 2)smear. I saw a little retrace. Check 200V for video outs. Open 'lytic causes that & usually shading ( darker on L of screen ) excessive brightness, retrace. Common on ALL solid state sets. A $$ maker......... 3) SAW filter may be bad. On regular pix looks like fine tuning is off. Hard to describe but its like porn, I know it when I see it. 4) back to backing. Works good BUT its the only thing that almost killed me. Did it with a pair of tin-can Zeniths. Leaned on both of them & next thing I knew I was on the floor shaking, sweating bullets & had atrial fribulations. Like any experienced TV man I got a case of Bud & quickly recovered. NEVER did that again ! Keep us posted 73 Zeno |
