Grundig Majestic Help

Howdy antique radio guys, I just had a project show up that I could use some help on. It's a big ol' Grundig Majestic table top radio that my dad gave to my brother, and he's wanting me to fix it for him. The model number is 3095 ML/USA. I replaced the worn out EL84 and got it playing with a CDP for a source. It also has a very week 6AQ8 (twin hi-mu triode) in what I'm assuming is the FM tuner section, but I should be able to dig one of those out of my stash. The recapping looks pretty straight forward as they are all clearly marked, but what looks to be a nightmare, is the broken tuner string. It's a pretty complex tuner knob which uses a friction "clutch" type assembly, and a few pulleys. I was hoping that someone here could steer me somewhere that I might be able to get a diagram, or better yet, a service manual. She's definately worth saving, and sounding pretty darn good even with the old caps. I sure appreciate any help or advice on this one. Thanks, Jay

I threw in a pic.

WOW Jay, that is a very cool rig. Judging by the screwdrivers (only thing I could identify to give me scale) that is a sizable piece. Hope you get her singing pretty!

Working on my Grundig radio right now

I am reading this thread with great interest because I am trying to do a light restoration of my Majestic 2065.
Trying not to alter appearance at all, but have some bumps and scratches to fix.
Show mentioned in post above.
