Cool 1L6 solid state replacement

Hi gang!

Do any of you have experience using a solid state 1L6 replacement in your Trans-Oceanics. Particularly Bill Turner's model.

I've read where some of these solid state replacements require realigning the radio. Do you lose or gain short wave reception?

Thanks!
Funken

Hi,

Until you realign the radio, you lose SW performance. The 1L6 was only used mainly in Zenith Trans-Oceanic radios and little else. They are really scarce and expensive. An alignment with the new substitute and you should do OK.
