E.H. Scott TV Console at Chicago area estate
I saw this set this morning at an estate sale in Lincolnwood, IL (just northwest of Chicago), and though somebody might be interested.
It is an E. H. Scoot TV / radio console. I tried to find a similar photo of one online but couldn't find one (Sorry, I really should take a camera to sales). It is in a mint mahogany cabinet with doors. On the right is the radio with a rectangular dial (similar to the Scott 800) and a rectangular CRT TV on the left. I tried to see a model number but it was hard to get to the back of the set at the time. They are asking $125 you could probably talk them down if its still there. The sale goes Saturday and Sunday. In the garage these is also a little Admiral 12" color portable probably from the early 70s that I would have liked to bring home, but I bought a bunch of audio stuff and have to limit myself. Here is a link to the sale, there's no picture of the TV though: http://www.estatesales.net/estate-sales/86967.aspx -- Max |

Or this?
http://antiqueradio.org/scot03.htm ![]() Combos by Scott Labs came in lots of flavors, with different TVs, radio on one side or the other, and various cabinet styles. They are often available cheap, due to the weight & size. Historical nit: E.H. had left the company by the time these postwar sets were made. Phil Nelson |

The TVs in these combos could be on the right or the left, as noted earlier, with different screen sizes. I doubt anyone would mistake the Scott projection TV for a direct view set. They had a big honking screen that popped up out of the top. Phil |

E.H. had pretty much been forced out by that time...And I'd about give my EYETEETH for one of them combos...I have an 800-B, good chrome, works excellent, no cabinet, though.

I wonder if it's an 800BT? That's a monsterously oversized version of the 800B HiFi, with the projection TV built in. Or, on a negative note, it could be a cheap 1980s Orion/Emerson built 25" color console. I've seen a few of those, as well as Scott VCRs. Although maybe not, as I believe that the Chinese Scott was a purchase of the H H Scott (the 60s stereo company); not E H Scott Radio Labs.

Speaking of Scott TVs, has anyone ever seen one of these in person? It looks like a Dumont RA-102 chassis in a Scott Chippendale cabinet that matches the 800B.

Sure does, and the description with FM radio and TV reception would fit DuMont, too. I wonder if any of these were actually produced?

Did anyone grab the color Admiral or know if it's still there? There's no ask a question link on that sale. I'd like to go get that set.

zenithfan, I have the Wards Airline version of that Admiral you are talking about. It could be yours!
I have one of those Scott radio chassis'. Neat to see it together. Mine looks like most of the stuff I've got, kinda rough. Cheap, though.

I can't imagine that there are too many people who would buy a TV like that Admiral, so it may still be there. I hope somebody saved that Scott, the cabinet was in such nice condition somebody may have been tempted to convert it into something that is no longer a TV and radio.
