Post Progress report on RCA 6T74-Good News!

After finnishing polishing of chassis, replacing last two sets of bad controls, tried set.
Still low volume, and, horiz. not working right.
I took set apart.
Found a mechanical short on plate connedionof terminal strip for hor. osc., and, hh control. Fixed that. Got that B+ back.
Found that a replacement carbon resistor on cathode of audio output tube had gone Very high. Replaced that today....
Still haven't tried for video yet, but, put one of my 45 rpm decks on, and, tried for sound. I have very good sound, and, tone control works great.
Audio amp fixed......
Either tonight, or, tommorrow, I'll connect my test pt and try for video.
Hope my hh control works now......

Well, good news!!!!
I'm calling this project nearly finnished. After some bugs, etc...
I have good sound, and, a very decent picture.
It's still on bench. Tommorrow I will put it back together, and, finalize adjustments. Then, I put back cover back on.
This project is nearly finnished. I bought an agile something or other to increase audio signal from dvd player.
On cable, sound is decent.
This project is declared a total success!!

And, here they are. I still have some adjustments to do, but, it's playing.
I only ask this. My contrast is slightly weak. My magnet on ion trap isn't the strongest. Could that have anything to do with my problem?

First picture: Long John Silver in a scene from Treasure Island series.
Second, outtakes of that show. Yeh, I know. Picture's a little crooked.
Third. Scend of Edward Collins in 1897 on Dark Shadows.
Fourth: Back showing set together.
And, last, an earlier picture of set playing.

Contrast isn't as bad as pictures show, but, is a little weak.
Still have some adjusting to do, as well.

I call this set a resurected success!!!
