DuMont Mystery Combo
Any guesses on what model might be in this huge DuMont cabinet? The estate sale people aren't sure whether the TV is still present. I am not, not, not in the market for anything this size, but may go peek just out of boredom.

Phil,
It looks like the Westminster Series II set I found locally and in this thread; http://www.videokarma.org/showthread.php?t=246865 John Folsom says grab it in my thread. I did for a few minutes and then passed it on to another VKer for a better fortune. Mine was clean and complete and this one looks even better. It is a RA-109 in a well-dressed sheeps clothing. They found another photo. No CRT, which cools my jets considerably.

Harry Poster has a replacement 19AP4 CRT listed on "the bay".
http://cgi.ebay.com/rare-boxed-Exper...item35a7c50005 I can only imagine what it will end up selling for??? I have the Westminster II that Dave A referred to and have been working feverishly on it for the past few months. I'm making progress, but there's a lot of "stuff" packed in that cabinet and it all needs attention of one kind or another. Stay tuned.............. Bob |

It's a Dumont tube too!
Looks like there's no back on that set either? |

Hmm, behemoth missing scarce & expensive CRT -- I've got too many other projects to take this on.
If anyone else wants it, say so. I could go there and try to make a deal for you. I doubt you would have much competition. The sale starts tomorrow morning. Phil Nelson |

At first glance, it looked like a picture of an industrial ciryscape on a B&W CRT, but as was pointed out, that cityscape is a chassis and a light blue painted wall behind the set...
And it looked like there was a non-linearity issue in the horizontal deflection (brighter vertical bar 2/3 the way to the right)...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that!

Its a beautiful piece of furniture and, don't flame me, but I thought it would make a great base for a large flat panel television. Be nice to have something like this and you could switch between modern flat panel viewing and to vintage viewing.
Too bad it is not electronically complete and close by to me as I would be interested.
