XL100 Color module update for Zeno

CTC-108

Is it the color module that also controls the tint and brightness? I've fooled around with the controls and just can't get the colors right and the brightness should, in my mind, be brighter.

Anyone have this module that you'd like to send my way??

So, I've been sick as a dog for the past week and today, finally got the energy to look into this. Made all the adjustments, checked them twice. Here is what I got.

pulling out the service switch produced a yellow/green line. It would not change. I put it back in service and the b/w screen was the same yellow/greenish color.

At this point, I am officially giving up on this set.

Anyone in my area want to come by and pick it up?

This TV is not really considered a modular chassis because the main chassis consist of one board, with the video output circuit being located on the CRT board; which, is not considered a replaceable module. From what you say, I'd suspect either a weak CRT or misadjusted CRT bias and/or drive controls.

Nothing to do this morn so............
Mark everything so you can put it back if needed.
From Sams manual, edited.
Set brightness & contrast to mid range.
Color level off ( CCW )
Pull service switch out ( will get a line )
Set R, G, & B color bias controls CCW
Set R, G, & B drive controls CW
Set screen control CCW ( on CRT socket)
Advance screen control til a line JUST appears either R, G, or B.
Adjust the other 2 BIAS controls to make a white line.
Push service switch back in.

Hopefully now you have a good B&W picture now.
If not use the DRIVE controls to make it B&W. If
you cant your CRT prob weak. When done one of the
DRIVE controls should be still CW & one of your BIAS
controls CCW.
Try that & let us know how you did.
