Everywhere I have worked had some of these Simpsons around. However, I personally like my model 630 Triplett. Hard to beat an analog meter movement for spotting intermittent circuits, especially in automotive circuits. Try that with a digital meter!

They are both very good meters, I have a few Simpson 260's and a Triplett 630. There is a model Triplett 630 - NS or NA that is very high ohms/volt - I don't remember which but it's the next best thing to a good VTVM. Either way a Good Analog meter is good to have and know how to use.... I also have one of those super High Ohms/volt Simpsons also a good meter. .

It was a great meter to put in the hands of everyone else from auto/farm mechanics to appliance repair to plant maintenance, provided they are aware of voltages and arc-flash risks at a specific location and use proper protective gear.

My particular Triplett 630 is a 630-NA. It has a range doubler switch which gives you twice as many voltage ranges. Very helpful.

I do not click on blind Youtube links, but it seems to be a video about Simpson 260 meters.
We had at least one at my first technician job repairing video displays, but my day-to-day meter there was a Beckman Tech 310 digital multimeter. I quickly got used to (and spoiled by) reading everything in digital terms, including "peaking analog adjustments" and watching capacitor-charge speeds and so on. I still use a bench version of that Beckman today. Several years ago, I decided I "needed" a Simpson 260, and I found a Series AFP-1 locally in nice condition. It had a Burgess (I think) 15-volt battery from perhaps the 1970s still in it, and completely free of leakage too. I still want to set up a CR2032 stack where that 15V battery went.
