Latest Color Acqisitions

I recently got two new old sets to add to my already overcrowded house, an RCA CTC-5 and a CTC-7. I recapped both and got them working fairly well although the 7 still needs some work in the burst circuits.

This is the 1957 Strathmore:

Steve,

Congratulations on the score and the restoration (the '57 Strathmore). That is a very cool looking set, and the color picture is very good.

Beautiful Steve! You make it sound so easy to get them going

The 5 has a really nice warm picture, what CRT does it have?

Eric and Terry- as far as I know it has the original 21AXP22. It is the CTC-5N, super chassis.

Later today I will try to post a better screen shot of the CTC-7. I found out why the burst amp was not working, I had the leads of two components touching one another under the chassis. It's a scary thought that I'm working around high voltage isn't it?

More to follow if I don't do something else stupid and electrocute myself!

Steve,
Not to be picky, your Strathmore has the Deluxe chassis.

Oops- yes it is the deluxe chassis with wide band X-Z demodulation.

Terry- the convergence is pretty good. It came in better after I replace a 22 and 27 ohm resistor in the convergence circuit. BTW- check your private messages, I sent you some info regarding the CTC-5.
