The first one is obviously false:
" the poor creature exploded the instant the oven was switched on."

It would take quite a while to heat it up to the bursting point! No way would it explode instantly, if at all.

So there's the answer, it has a tube.
Wonder why it has newspaper stuck in there?

I got mine for $19 but it was missing the knobs and back.
I bet yours was missing the paper too!

Yeah - now you guys mention it - that DOES look like someone playing the piano...

Another urban legend (probably) - one of my mate's friends was training to be in the SAS, but dropped out. In part of the training process though, they made them watch a video of a cat being microwaved. By all accounts it took about 5 minutes before the poor moggie popped...

You're right. These things do happen every now and then. I read in my local newspaper a few years ago of some kid who broke into a lady's house and stuck her cat into the microwave. The animal did not survive, even though the owner got it to the vet as soon as she could.

As you said, (the nerve of) some people, especially kids. What drives them to do things like that? I hope the one who pulled this stunt was arrested and put in prison for extreme animal abuse.

Don't worry - the karma will come back round and get him - scummy barsteward. How can you do that to a cat!?

On "Animal hospital" (a vet programme with Rolf Harris on, here in the UK) a few months back, they had a moggie who'd been microwaved. Luckily he only had minor tissue damage to his back legs and he recovered, but the legs looked in a right state when he was first brought in. That one was a kids/microwave/genuine accident thing though thankfully.
