This Philco is driving me nuts...

Man I'm falling in love with these Philcos. I have wanted something like that for years. Never ran across any roundie but my RCA 8T-243 so far. If anyone ever decides to sell or trade PM me.

Charlie, mine is a 1400 according to the chassis tag and it has the knob on top. The 1404 I tossed had it too. Even the 51PT-1207 has it. Philco used it on a lot of sets I guess. My 1953 floor model even has a switch on the back that does the same thing.

I also have the 1403. I think one of the differences is that the 1403 has the signal attenuator control on the top of the cabinet just about the crt. I don't believe that the 1400 has that feature.
