i'd rather have a non-working one with the original electronics, than the cabinet with a BPC TV in it.

Hell, I'd much sooner build one myself from scratch than to buy this thing. And the price?

Sure puts the cheap low end console stereos being sold for $300.00 on my local kijiji into perspective.

Why don't you contact the seller and ask? They certainly are worth preserving, whether or not you like the Komet cabinet style.
