It's not looking good. I wish people on CL weren't so screwy. The set isn't worth all the hassle in my opinion. I'll give this lady a call one more time and see what's up.

Is that location far from you? Jump in the ol car and go I went up to 175 miles one way I took the chance at junk or the nice Zenith roundie I ended up with. Its always a gamble in my opinion my best luck was right in my own back yard I just had to find the place, and lucky all parts were in stock for my maggie and I went 190 miles to get that tv when it was all said and done.

The problem isn't location, it's the kookey people that currently have the thing.

Sometimes that happens. One time I was in this junk shop, and there was a Philco radiobar, and an old RCA floor model Victrola. Both cabinets looked in great condition, but there was a barrier of junk in front of them, so I couldn't get to them to inspect the insides at all. The guy there only wanted $40 each, and I told him I would pay that but first I needed to get behind them, take a look, and make sure they were complete. But he wanted the money before he moved the junk out of the way, or let me move the junk out of the way. I wasn't going to pay for something I couldn't see first, and he refused to move the stuff, so I just left and past up what was probably a great deal.

What I think is different is when you buy one then they call and want it back and are willing to pay more to get it back, it is a 25MC33 like yours Adam it only needs the tuner and switch put back in it.

It's not that easy, the house is not being lived in at this time it seems. The lady's mother is the one that is supposed to meet one of us there. She can only be there certain days and it's turning into a pain in the ass. Then she doesn't answer the phone half of the time or respond to an email. I'm not driving an hour and a half to maybe get a '66 Zenith. Pre '59 anything else yeah.

I guess it depends on how much you would want it in the first place, I usually set up an appointment and if they cant be there then too bad they lose I guess it's only money and they have it listed as free so i would say offer some cash for a sure deal

I did offer money and it didn't help, she didn't even say anything about it. I think it's a waste of time. She says "maybe monday" yeah, right. Cheryl is undoubtedly a f-l-a-k-e.

I find it amazing how flakes are drawn to CL like a magnet. I've seen it again and again and again. Sure makes me appreciate ebay!

Last week I advertised a rug in the local "shopper" for my wife. I really didn't think it would sell, but we did get some calls. One guy really wanted it but it would have to be delivered. He was a few miles from where I was going to pick up the Airline combo, so I figured this was all part of God's plan. Nice guy, but...different. An artist, and very lonely. He called just to chat a couple times...has led an interesting life. Never know what you'll run into. Today I happened upon a new thrift store; owner was out in the parking lot listening to Hank, Jr. blaring on his boombox. EXTREMELY hopped up on Red Bull. Another very interesting character; was an official US government photographer in DC, showed me photos he took of Clinton. His store is packed so tight you can't get in. I'm beginning to think that I attract this type of person in the same way that CL attracts the flakes...

Mark -

Guess I'm glad I didn't read the forum that morning or I'd probably be dealing with this woman. Oak Forest is right down the road from me.

There do seem to be a lot of weirdos on CL as of late. You probably remember the guy with the sold/not sold B/W Zenith from earlier this year. People either think their stuff is worth $$$ or are strange when you're trying to arrange pickup.

I remember the Zenith your're talking about Jim, I still see it listed sometimes. Ron you're definitely right about the weirdos, I wish you weren't but you are. The whole Cincinnati thing with the crazy lady was a nightmare. I officially give up on this Cheryl and her junk, if anyone else wants to try and deal with it, be my guest.

I have had some very good deals with Craigslist, but several that were a big hassle or just plain did not respond. I think part of the issue is that Craigslist is free, so in many cases you get what you pay for.

I hope swomeone here gets that TV.
