beautiful set.glad it came out for you.those 21cyp22 crts put out a terrific picture.i have 2 of them and they stand against any tube,anywhere.the reds are so full and rich.i am happy for you!

So was it determined the old flyback was not original? Or was the old flyback defective, causing the various problems before? Very nice looking set, and great looking picture!

The flyback was original to the set. Once removed each winding was rung on two different flyback testers both of which indicated a shorted winding feeding the horizontal yoke section. Resistance of this winding was checked against the schematic values and found to measure 5.2 ohms where 9.4 was the correct value. The interesting aspect to this was that the flyback didn’t run hot and could be adjusted to as high as 26 KV but at no time would it focus properly. It was very close but still a little soft. With the new flyback in place focus is achieve with the control almost center of its range.

Slightly. With correct settings of the linearity slug instructions called for a max of 180 ma w/o drive lines present but it ran 185 at the lowest drive setting and would go up around 200 easily.
