Yikes! Negatory good buddy. Not in this application. It's OK for crossover networks etc. But not in applications where there is constant DC on the pair.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of hooking up caps this way either but large voltage non-polar caps are not very common. The Howard Sams parts descriptions even suggest this as a replacement. So "whatcha' gonna' do?"

I did some reasearch and found that there are some metalized film caps that may fit this application however they are kinda' pricey...
