the BK 1076 or 1077 have a lot of utility, there is a test patter, gated color bar,RF/IF/Video and for sweep circuits it has a plate drive (you attach the plate clip from the fly to it to see if the fly/damper/yoke is ok) and grid drives for both vertical and horz. You can live without it, but I find it handy, and besides I am an equipment junkie...

Hi Dave, thanks for your tip about the HOT. I measured pin 4 from the wiper of the width control and it was reading -1v. As it turns out, the width pot is no good, so it's off to the fun store this weekend for parts. After a bit of contact cleaner, I was able to get a very small raster with bottom foldover, but the boost volts are only reading 265 (should be 400) and the 260V to the other terminal of the width pot is reading low. (I have had it reading at the correct 260V in this session, so something is intermittent)
The EHT is too low as well, a huge hole in the pic and blooming. The telltale small arc from the fly was also a bad sign. I'll check over all the pots this weekend and see what happens. I also have the final 4 electros I need to replace the large can near the vert OP tranny on their way. Thanks for your input, it's certainly a step in the right direction!
