Cheapest "full size" color set you could buy think dates to about 1970, trying to use up the stockpile of round CRT, can you imagine that a STOCKPILE of rounde color crts.

The lowest priced roundie, Philco color set, came out in late 1967, as a '68 model. It was a gray-painted metal table model cabinet.
IIRC, there were optional metal screw-in legs, like the other makes. I don't think, they made them more than a year or two.
Curtis-Mathes made a low end model roundie at the same time.
The chassis was a knock-off of the RCA CTC-20.
Then, of course, there was Muntz!

I just picked up a late sixties rectangular screen Philco-Ford console tv (color) and a portable or two. If anyone is interested I can post pictures.

Yes, post some pictures please. Most of us here love those TVs built in teh big factory at Tioga and "C" streets in Philadelphia.

I once had a 1969 Philco-Ford 25" color set w/chassis #19QT87, the picture tube IIRC was a 25XP22 and it was near dead at 8 years old.
Got it from a neighbor who had it on all day, every day. I used it for a while but got sick of having to turn off all the lights to watch it.
It did not have a tuning eye but did have the one knob tuner with blue-green channel numbers. It received fringe as well as a Zenith did too.

I still have a 1967 Philco 19" color luggable with chassis #17KT50, weak 19EYP22 and flyback that runs hot. It was a great attic set when there was analog, it pulled in everything with rabbit ears. I used it for an hour or less. It did NOT say Ford on it. I found it on a rural trash pile in 1978, took it when I moved to Texas in the early 80s because it was such a great receiver. Its now in my workshop but hates a signal from a DTV converter.

One set that I truly regret getting rid of was a late 60s Philco-Ford color console. Had a beautiful picture. My impression is that Ford gutted research & development in later years in anticipation of selling Philco. Lee Iacocca was president of FoMoCo at the time and he is on record as saying he thought Ford had no business selling washing machines.
