Ahh, that pretty much answers my question. Since it's high voltage, failure is more common than at B+ or lower voltages. It's definately good to treat the HV section of any TV with great care, not only for safety, but long and reliable operation.

Yes. I wasn't going to bid on it since I wanted to focus on more mundane expenditures, but at the last minute I had a change of heart and went for it. Who needs to pay the mortgage anyway? I can live inside a CTC-4, right? Those tubes should keep me nice and warm.
