This one is intersting to me as I have had a 21" version of this that seems to be following me through life. I found mine in working order in the hall of an old, closed up, downtown Hotel sometime around 1989. The flyback went out one night around 1994. Most people werent online back then and at the time I thought that I would NEVER find a replacement fly for an old Magnavox. I had grown attached to the TV so luckily I didnt scrap it out. This great site helped me locate an NOS part and the set works like we never skipped a beat. I am considering it as my next recap so I don't lose another hard to find transformer. I always hate ripping into unrestored sets that STILL WORK after all this time with their original capacitors. To me THAT is fascinating enough to risk leaving them alone. Anymore weather or not I recap depends on how often I plan on using a set.... Thanks again John!! |
